Meet Our Therapist Heather

Heather Fisher, MS, LMFT, MedFT

Heather is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a specialization in Medical Family Therapy. She works with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. Heather’s experience includes a background working with children and families in childcare and parent educator settings, working with co-parents, as well as teaching positive discipline courses. One of her specialties is working with families and individuals experiencing chronic illness and pain, cancer, and other medical issues.

First and foremost she believes that you are the expert on your life, not her. She believes that trust and safety is the cornerstone of a successful therapeutic relationship. She will begin with openness about what you are bringing to counseling, respect for you and your family, curiosity about who you are and what you believe, as well as accountability to her power in the room. She believes that our lives are a series of stories woven together to create our beliefs about who we are and how we interact in relationship with the people and world around us. Some of those stories have been authored by us, some authored by those in our lives. Together you will work to identify how you would like to re-story problematic or traumatic stories to create future stories that fit your vision for your life.
